The week of 27th to 31st March we celebrated Literacy Week in the school. The author Lucinda Jacob visited the senior classes to talk to them about writing. There was a book swap and a visit from the Custard Pie puppeteers for the younger classes .Thank you to Ms Freeney for organising Literacy Week.
On 16th March to coincide with St Patrick’s Day we celebrated Culture Day. All the different cultures of the girls in our school were represented and celebrated. Friends First is a programme being introduced to our school which promotes the development of coping skills in young children. Ms Kelly and Miss Timmins are piloting the programme in the two 1st classes. It is a programme that is used in Australian schools and has the backing of the Irish National Psychological Service.
